The worst kept secret is out…

On the radio show, I along with Nico had been lobbying for Vinny Del Negro to not get fired.

Although after the Bulls limped to a 1-9 record to start the season, it was clear to many observers that Del Negro was going to be shown the door.

It was just a matter of when.

Well, after months of speculating, Del Negro will be fired on Tuesday afternoon after leading the Bulls to back-to-back playoff appearances.

In 2009, Del Negro led the Bulls to the seventh game of the Eastern Conference 1st round, only to lose to the Boston Celtics while former Tiger Derrick Rose earned Rookie-of-the-Year honors.

This season, thanks in part to the fade by the Raptors, the Bulls slipped into the playoffs, only to lose in five games to the Cavs.

To me, the way the Bulls handled the situation was akin to the Oregon firing of Ernie Kent.

On Tuesday, Del Negro shouldn’t be the only one that should get a pink slip.

Plenty of others deserve to be gone.
